Maria Montessori

Maria Montessori was an Italian Physician and Educator best known for the philosophy of education that bares her name.

 

Maria Montessori observed that children who were placed in an environment where activities were designed to support their natural development and when consistent guidelines were provided children had the power to educate themselves.

 

Montessori’s life was dedicated to spreading the educational approach she had developed through these prepared environments and this method of education is practised throughout countries around the world.
